This midyear, we continued holding Level UP, our weekly gathering inside UP Manila. Since only a handful of students take midyear classes, we expected a quieter season. Instead, God surprised us with new students getting connected to discipleship. Here are some of the stories behind this unexpected harvest.
Terish, a freshman taking BS Speech Pathology, first attended our final Level UP gathering last May. A few weeks later, as the midyear classes was just beginning, she reached out to Abie because she was already feeling overwhelmed and burned out. As they talked and prayed together, the conversation opened the door for Abie to share the gospel with her over the phone. That day, Terish received Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
The very next day, she attended our weekly Youth Service, followed by Level UP the next week. She continued joining throughout the midyear, and Chloe, one of our student leaders, began walking with her through One2One. Today, Terish is already on Chapter 5!
But the story does not stop there. Meg, Terish’s blockmate, also started joining us—and now Terish is preparing to do One2One with her. A student who was recently reached is already taking steps to reach someone else!
We also welcomed Nikita, Betbet, Jules, Celine, Jemuel, and Vem, who became connected to our community during the midyear. They will soon begin their own One2One journeys.
Fittingly, our series this season was called The Best News Ever, centered on the gospel. Truly, the gospel is the best news ever—and it is too good to keep to ourselves. We are believing that these students will continue growing in their faith and sharing Jesus with their classmates and friends.
Thank you for faithfully partnering with us. Because of your prayers and generosity, students are hearing the gospel, being discipled, and becoming disciple-makers themselves.
